Flutterbies

"When you feel a little breeze,
or notice a tickle, or need to sneeze
or find your things are rearranged
or something seems a little strange
Look very closely and you might see
sparkly dust, or a buzzing bee:
Behold! a fairy with gossamer wings
has come to show you wondrous things!"

Blue

I'm blue da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa.......

It's been awhile since I've heard that song but this photo of Hannah somehow took me back there. I haven't got a lot to say today. Everything is going rather well. I'll let you know if things change. Pilates is becoming painful. I guess that means it's working. Ok, the moment you've all been waiting for.........................

Pilates Moment

Ok, so I just started doing Pilates with Hannah and Martha. Note to self: Get A Mat. So far we've used Martha's rug and when we run out of room...the hardwood floor. And, I've learned that I have this small...little balance problem. Hannah discovered that when I smashed into her doing the leg kick "accidentally knock your friend out" move. I don't know why I started Pilates. I was perfectly happy being a couch potato with ole Ellie (cat in picture being a couch potato with me). But, life changes.... Anyone wishing to join our little group is more than welcome. As long as you're a girl. It's embarrassing enough doing those moves in front of each other.

Mean Ole Computer!

Ok, my computer is being hateful so I'll have to post a photo later. But...I'll still give a first horse show update. Well, not too bad. We got a 3rd, 4th, 2 5ths, and a 7th. We placed in every class. Overall, not too bad. Now we just have to get ready for the next two day show in May. We'll be trying something....just.....a little.....different. As usual. I'll keep all posted on the outcome. Anyways, photo to come.

Oh, and props to Cole for a great weekend. He suprises me every year. And thanks Tammy for all your help at the show. If it wasn't for you I'd still be peeling sugar peanuts off of Cole's feet. Hope Mickey (Phil) has learned to be a good little horse show dog. We have many miles to go......

Busy Work

Because I haven't posted a photo in a while (and I totally blame my horse for taking up so much of my time) this is to be considered busy work.

Just A Thought

I sit beside the fire and think
of all that I have seen,
of meadow-flowers and butterflies
In summers that have been;

Of yellow leaves and gossamer
in autumns that there were,
with morning mist and silver sun
and wind upon my hair.

I sit beside the fire and think
of how the world will be
when winter comes without a spring
that I shall ever see.

For still there are so many things
that I have never seen:
in every wood in every spring
there is a different green.

I sit beside the fire and think
of people long ago,
and people who will see a world
that I shall never know.

But all the while I sit and think
of times there were before,
I listen for returning feet
and voices at the door.

Disgruntled Hobbit

I WANDER mountain to mountain,
From sea to sea,
I wander into a country
Where everyone is asleep.
There in the Land of Nod
I never think of home,
For home is there,
With sleeping doves and silvery girls,
Sleeping boys and drowsy roses.
There I find people whose eyes are heavy,
And trees with folded wings.

-Conkling, Hilda. Poems by a Little Girl

Thanks Hannah for the photo of such a cute little girl! I simply can't imagine where you might have found such a child. Kind of looks like someone in our college/career group but I just can't put my finger on it. Well, maybe someday we'll run across her again...
